India has decided to continue imposing a 5-year countervailing duty on stainless steel welded pipes from China and Vietnam

On September 10th, the Revenue Department of the Indian Ministry of Finance issued Notice No. 04/2024 Custods (CVD), accepting the first positive final ruling recommendation of the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry on the sunset review of welded stainless steel pipes originating from or imported from China and Vietnam on June 15, 2024, and deciding to continue imposing a 5-year countervailing duty on the products involved in the above-mentioned countries. This case involves products under Indian customs codes 73064000, 73066100, and 73066900, as well as some products under codes 73041110, 73041190, 73044100, 73045110, 73049000, 73051129, 73059099, 73061100, 73062100, 73062919, 73063090, 73065000, 73069011, 73069019, and 73069090.
The subsidy investigation period of this case is from April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023 (12 months), and the damage investigation period is from 2019 to 2020, 2020 to 2021, 2021 to 2022, and the subsidy investigation period.
